HNI Services practically rebuilt our house. They installed an extensive amount of flooring tile, put in Heating and Air Conditioning system, built the back deck, constructed the driveway turn around pad and painted all the inside. They completed the work on time, on budget and left the premises clean. We very highly recommend Terry Grier and HNI Services.

I would go on to say that if you wanted something done quickly and on the cheap side, HNI Services and Terry Grier is not the contractor for the job. However, if you want a job done right, at a fair price and are willing to invest the time to make sure that happens, call Terry Grier. I would also say that since I wasn't living in the area anymore, I needed someone I could trust to make good decisions if my wife or I weren't available.
The house's appraisal report noted that the 40 year old house looked no more than 10 years old!

My wife and I have a bayhouse in Kemah, Texas that we have owned for 10 years. Over those years we have found that it is not just a second home to us. This house is a family home with our whole extended family and friends experiencing many good times together and memories that we will all treasure. We have also found that because we used this home so much, our needs had changed. We wanted to add onto our home and improve it to fit our current needs.
I noticed an ad in a local publication for HNI Services and decided to give them a call. My wife and I met with the owner Terry Grier at our residence and showed him our plans. We expected Mr. Grier to cringe when we told him I was an architect and my wife was an interior designer. We also expected him to cringe when we showed him the plans we had drawn ourselves. Amazingly, he did not cringe at all. We are accustomed to trades thinking it is difficult to work with architects and interior designers because we are picky. We were impressed that he did not consider that a problem. We were also impressed with how organized and efficient he seemed to be. We both had a good feeling about Mr. Grier.
We were progressing with our plans with Terry Grier when Hurricane Ike hit Galveston Bay area. Our home was damaged and we needed help. Mr. Grier immediately came to our rescue and used his talent and in demand resources to help us rebuild. During this reconstruction, my wife and I decided it was a good time to just start our addition since we were already in construction disarray. Our business with Mr. Grier and HNI Services proceeded for well over a year. During this time, we got to know Terry Grier, his wife Tamara and their company and subs pretty well. We can honestly say that this has been a graet working relationship during this time. We now consider them friends. They are organized, efficient, friendly, and available and have the highest integrity. The job is not done until it is done to your satisfaction. That meant a great deal to us. We are also proud to say that Terry, Tamara and their company won two prestigious awards on our project. Our home is just like we wanted and of the highest quality. We would be very confident recommending HNI Services to anyone.
Karen and I are completely satisfied with the project that you completed at our home. Being that this was the first remodeling project that either one of us had undertaken, we had numerous questions regarding certain aspects of the project and doubts regarding some of our decisions. You were able to put these issues to rest. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

As you know, we did not begin our project with HNI Services. My wife and I decided in October of 2003 to add a second story game room and office to our existing one story home. Not knowing where to begin, we pulled various fliers and advertisements to find a pool of contractors to interview. After interviewing the contractors and calling their references, we decided upon someone whom we thought was trustworthy. After initiating the contract, it took him three months to begin work on the addition. After he began working, the excuses and headaches only increased. After our frustrations became intolerable and we discovered that he did not have proper permits for the job and had not fully paid his subcontractors, we fired the general contractor.
As you can imagine, my wife and I were very frustrated and confused. We were out all the money we paid the original contractor. Our house was a construction zone that was uncomfortable and unsafe for our children. We needed to complete the project, but we did not know where to turn.
Fortunately one of the subcontractors that worked on our addition was Houston-Stafford Electric. One of their representatives notified us to let us know that our original general contractor had not paid them. He also suggested that if we wanted the project done right we should contact HNI Services. That was the best advice we ever received.
From our initial meeting with you, we could tell something was different. You took a great deal of time to fully inspect our home in its current condition and suggest possible options for completing the project. You fully explained what to expect with the various options. In the end, we decided to remove the work completed by the first contractor and start from the beginning.
You clearly told us what to expect, when it would occur, and what was needed of us. You were on the job site at the beginning and end of each workday. We talked nearly every day and had a defined way of relaying messages when we were unable to talk. You understood our desires and intentions and made them your own. All of the subcontractors that worked on this project were courteous, respectful and polite. There were no major problems, which is unusual. Even more unusual to me was that you seemed to agree with us anytime we thought something didn't quite look right or needed to be touched up. It was very reassuring to have someone as detail oriented and meticulous as yourself managing this project. You take great pride in your work and you do your best to deliver a quality, custom project.
We are extremely happy we found HNI Services and chose you to complete our remodeling project. I want to let you and your team know that Sandy and I very much appreciate the fine job that you did on our new room. I know that I nitpicked a lot of details as we went along, but I think that the process helped us to end up with the room as we wanted it. You had a fine scheduling approach, where something useful took place nearly every day. We were favorably impressed with many of your subcontractors, especially those associated with framing, trimming and roofing. And Karl Voelkel made a substantial contribution in translating our ideas into something that could be built.

Over a year ago, we sought contractors to do a rather extensive remodeling of an upstairs bedroom. This job entailed taking out walls, redesigning, and enclosing a porch, as well as some roofing, electrical, bring and flooring work.
We met with three contractors and chose HNI Services. We had seen evidence of their work in our development that appeared to be "first rate" and the professionalism that was exhibited when we met them convinced us that they were the ones we wanted to work in our home.
We were not disappointed with our decision. The work commenced on time and every effort was made to keep the construction area picked up and looking neat.
Inspection of the job revealed a less than a 100% result on the wood floor. Therefore, it was completely redone; not at our request, but at theirs. We couldn't be happier with the results and the courteous workmen who performed this remodeling.
Because of our complete satisfaction dealing with HNI Services, when we decided to have a wood floor installed in our family room this fall we didn't even bother calling anyone else. We knew the job would be done correctly and that there would be no surprises.
